INCREASING THE PRESENCE OF WOMEN IN SPANISH REAL ESTATE: TOWARDS A MORE INNOVATIVE AND INCLUSIVE SECTOR

29 Feb 2024

Commitment to gender equality and diversity in the workplace is an increasingly relevant topic, and ACTIVUM stands out as an outstanding example in this regard. With 72% of its workforce made up of women, the company is at the forefront of promoting gender equality in the real estate sector.

Additional data provided by ACTIVUM reveal that in the management and area managers team and in the commercial team, the proportion of women is 71% and 70%, respectively, highlighting a remarkable balance at all levels of the organisation.

"In real estate, it is essential to recognise and value the diversity of talent and perspectives that both men and women bring to the industry", has explained Cristina Balaguer, General Manager of ACTIVUM. "Gender inclusion is not only a matter of fairness, but also a smart strategy to promote innovation and growth in our industry. It is time to break down barriers and create an environment where all professionals can reach their full potential".

These data reflect a strong commitment to equal opportunities and the elimination of gender barriers within the real estate sector. They also underline the importance of female presence in managerial and strategic roles, which contributes to more inclusive and representative decision-making.

ACTIVUM's initiative aligns with broader efforts within the Spanish real estate sector, where associations such as Women in Real Estate Spain (WIRES) and the Asociación de Mujeres Profesionales del Sector Inmobiliario (AMPSI) are working to promote female participation and leadership.

This commitment to gender diversity not only benefits individual companies, but also strengthens and enriches the entire real estate industry, creating a more innovative, inclusive and sustainable environment for the future.
